How can my child apply for a Daskam Savings Account?
Call us or visit your nearest branch to apply for a Daskam Children’s Savings Account, with a copy of the child’s birth certificate, guardian’s NIC or passport and billing proof to confirm address, if differ from the NIC address.
What does my child need to qualify to open a Daskam Savings Account?
Any child who is a resident of Sri Lanka or who has valid Permanent Residency below the age of 18 years, is eligible to open a Daskam Savings Account together with a parent or guardian.
Does my child need to maintain a specific balance in his/her Daskam Savings Account?
The account can be opened with an initial deposit of Rs. 1,000/-, however, to be eligible for the 10% grant, the account balance must be more than Rs. 5,000-/-. The child will receive the 10% grant until the child reaches the age of 12 years.
What documents do I need to bring?
The child’s birth certificate
Parent or guardian’s NIC / Driving License or Passport
A utility bill to confirm the corresponding address, if different from the NIC
Is there any restriction in terms of receiving the additional 10% deposit?
Yes, the balance should be more than Rs. 5,000/- and the child should be below 12 years of age.
